october

Autumn is my favorite time of year and October, my favorite month.

I love the chill in the air, the crunch of leaves beneath my feet, the beautiful color on the trees. It's just so beatiful! Trees are just starting to change around here and I'm hoping the lack of rain this year won't kill the color too much. Until it progresses into full swing, I get to play with the bits of color currently popping up above my head.

What's your favorite time of year?

a little rain

goes a long way when you're a mushroom.

It's been incredibly hot and dry here in the midwest lately. We finally got some rain and look what popped up:

tiny neighbors

I've decided this is truly the best way to spend part of my lunch every day...

seeing the world around me through my lens. It's the perfect break from staring at the computer screen.

Sometimes the neighbors just beg to have their photos taken.

This guy even found his own spotlight. =)

Stormy Weather

One thing I will miss about the Midwest... the awesome thunderstorms!

More Lily

Let me start with, I'm not usually a huge orange fan. However, these lilies were just so pretty I couldn't resist. This shot was actually the original shot (followed up by the previously posted one). I still love this one more due to the soft lighting. Some weeks just require an extra shot of happy color.

I promise all posts won't be orange lilies! =)

To even things out a bit, this is a shot from my trip to Ohio.

I just love the texture of that palm trunk.

Welcome!

Welcome to my new photo blog! I'll be posting my favorite photos here.

I've always loved photography and have had the opportunity to take a few photography classes over the years. No matter what else I do in my life, I always come back to photography. I can get lost in little else, but hand me a camera and I'm in my own world. I love shooting natural elements and wildlife, but am working on my portraiture as well. Follow me as I learn and grow my skills...
